KVP-Project Serbia (ongoing)

Project partner: Serbian Biogas Association (SBA)
In the project between the German and the Serbian association, the common goal is to improve the situation of small and medium-sized businesses in Serbia, as well as to promote the use of biogas and therefore the expansion of renewable energies.
From May 2019 to September 2020 a preliminary project between GBA and SBA was carried out, which produced a significant increase in public awareness in the sector and achieved very good results in the development of services and products and, above all, supported decision makers in their work. The partners want to build on that with this new project.
Biogas production in Serbia has a sustainable perspective, especially as it brings the country closer to the environmental standards of the European Union, increases income generation and ensures its energy independence.
KVP-Project Ukraine (ongoing)

The mutual collaboration between the German and Ukrainian associations aims at strengthening the biogas sector in Ukraine and thereby enhancing the development of renewable energies. sequa gGmbH in Bonn is responsible for coordinating this program for BMZ.
The project seeks to support companies in the biogas sector in Ukraine to contribute to sustainable environmental and climate protection. The primary objective is to develop the Bioenergy Association of Ukraine (UABIO) into a self-sustaining organization that supports and represents its members to society, authorities, and the business sector. To achieve these goals, the German Biogas Association supports UABIO through the enhancement of association management, the strengthening of organizational structures, the development of membership services, and the promotion of advocacy as well as network building.
KVP-Project Uganda (closed)

Project partner: Uganda National Biogas Alliance (UNBA)
The project with the Ugandan Biogas Association UNBA started in December 2020 with a duration of three years. Due to its location and climatic conditions, Uganda offers very good conditions for the operation of biogas plants. The common goal is to build a strong and active biogas umbrella association, which promotes the use of the technology in Uganda in a sustainable and efficient way and represents the sector on a national and international level.

Small-scale KVP-Project Serbia (closed)
Duration: 01.05. – 31.12.2019; 01.01. – 30.04.2020; 01.05. – 30.09.2020Project partner: Serbian Biogas Association (SBA)
A so-called small-scale measure (short version of a KVP project) between GBA and SBA started in May 2019. After the first eight-months the project was extended by another four months due to good results; caused by the Covid 19 pandemic, the project received a further extension of five months. The project led to a significant increase in public awareness in the sector, the population and especially the responsible ministries. Know-how transfer as well as further network expansion were also main parts of the cooperation between the two associations.
KVP-Project India (closed)

Project partner: Indian Biogas Association (IBA)
The first phase of the chamber and association partnership between GBA and IBA started in December 2015. The aim of the partnership is to further improve the framework conditions for the use of biogas in India and to establish a member-based association structure. As an association of the biogas industry, IBA shall represent the interests of its members in the construction and operation of biogas plants, communicate competently and actively with the Indian government and relevant stakeholders, and bring the topic of biogas to the public.
